Objectives
We hope that GEN is able to contribute to the following goals:
Support inter-institutional and interdisciplinary collaborations among early and mid career researchers.
Provide a platform to connect researchers with upcoming opportunities (e.g. grants, special issues, conferences, job opportunities, workshops).
Advocate for the active inclusion of individuals affected by gambling harm at all stages of the research process.
Nurture an open and inclusive online environment where early and mid career members can communicate about relevant issues (e.g. website, Twitter).
Provide a curated hub for resources related to key considerations related to gambling research, such as managing conflicts of interest in gambling research, or avoiding stigmatising language.
Promote the practice of open scholarship, for example, open sharing of research materials, data, analysis scripts, software, and research papers.
Foster long lasting collegial support to manage the risky and uncertain nature of this career phase during one’s academic trajectory.
These objectives are always a work in progress. GEN is the result of the interaction and collective effort of those involved in the network. If you would like to make a suggestion or get involved feel free to contact us!
